Courtney Denise Sanders is a distinguished attorney based in Jackson, MS, dedicated to advocating for justice for clients in specialized areas of law including criminal defense, personal injury and wrongful death, and Section 1983 civil rights law. A graduate of Mississippi College School of Law, Courtney was recognized on the Dean’s List and earned a specialty certificate in Family & Juvenile Law.
Courtney is driven by her passion for justice for all. Courtney especially is passionate about juveniles in the system, as the long-term effects are infinite. Courtney enjoys defending people who are charged with criminal offenses; she understands that good people do bad things, and she understands the future consequences that a criminal conviction may have upon one's future. Courtney finds her "why" in her civil rights prison injury or wrongful death cases, where she stands up for the rights of her clients, and she fights for those whose voices have been silenced, forgotten, or are no longer able to speak.
Courtney’s commitment to excellence is further demonstrated by her membership in the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society. Courtney has been honored as a Top 40 Under 40 Attorney (2024, 2026), and she has been the recipient of AVVO Client’s Choice Award for three consecutive years (2024-2026). Courtney is a member of the Mississippi Bar, where she is admitted to local, state, federal courts as well as the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Mississippi.
Courtney is a proud member of the Mississippi Association for Justice (“MAJ”), an organization dedicated to protecting Mississippians’ access to the civil justice system and ensuring accountability. She is also a member of the American Association for Justice (“AAJ”), a dedicated community of trial lawyers fighting for justice for victims of wrongdoing.
With a focus on civil rights, criminal defense, and personal injury, Courtney serves clients throughout Central Mississippi, including Hinds, Rankin, and Madison Counties. Her practice encompasses specialized legal fields, such as wrongful death, police misconduct, and federal civil rights litigation. Courtney is passionate about providing her clients with the support and advocacy they need, ensuring they feel seen, heard, and empowered in their pursuit of justice.
