When Court Meets: Rankin County Courtschedules hearings Monday through Friday.
Rankin County Court has exclusive jurisdiction over eminent domain proceedings, juvenile hearings, disputes over the partitioning of private property, and cases involving unlawful entry. Rankin County Court splits jurisdiction with Rankin County Justice Court in civil and criminal proceedings. Rankin County Court also splits jurisdiction with Rankin County Chancery Court and Rankin County Circuit Court in cases involving disputes over $200,000. The Circuit Court may also assign non-capital felony criminal cases to Rankin County Court, if its docket is full. Judges Kent McDaniel and Thomas Broome serve as Rankin County Court Judges.

The Rankin County Sheriff's Department, as well as the Mississippi Highway Patrol, also have jurisdiction in Rankin County. Arrests or tickets issued by these Officers generally end up in Rankin County Court.
