Harville told the Daily Corinthian that two city street department workers, James Edward Williams Jr. and Clarence Turner, were loading brush into the truck on the side of the road when it was struck in the rear by a car driven by 33-year-old William M. Lipe Jr.
Lipe was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo for treatment of injuries.
