Jackson Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Biloxi

|

A 26-year-old Jackson man was struck and killed by a drunk driver in Biloxi over the weekend. According to WJTV News Channel 12, the vehicle involved was a van stolen from the University of Southern Mississippi’s Gulf Coast Research Lab.

Very few details have been released about this terrible incident, but 36-year-old David Lee Shepperd of Colorado is being held on a $1,000,000 bond. WJTV News Channel 12 reports that he has been charged with DUI causing death and taking away of a motor vehicle.

Christopher Curry, 26 years old, died of blunt force trauma at the hospital on Friday. There’s no word on how the arrest went down, but the van was apparently left sitting on the beach. The team at Coxwell & Associates, PLLC sends their deepest condolences to the family members and friends of Christopher Curry.

This case highlights an important issue people sometimes do not understand about lawyers. This question is often asked: “How can you represent someone who committed a crime?” I am not being speaking flippantly when I say it is not hard, if you believe in the American system of justice. I think in one of our future blogs it is time for us to talk about how our system of justice developed. It will explain a lawyers role in society and why it is important to freedom.

If you or a family or friend have been seriously injured or charged with a crime call the law firm of Coxwell & Associates, PLLC. The lawyers have real experience helping people. If you look at other lawyer’s web pages they talk about their experience but scant evidence is shown to highlight that experience. On the Coxwell & Associates web page the reader can see case after case of criminal and serious injury problems solved by the attorneys at Coxwell & Associates.
